The gaming industry is one of the most dynamic sectors of the Polish economy. Preliminary data shows that the total expenditure on video games in 2022 continued to increase. This result is significant because the market is in a completely new situation - for the first time, the number of players using paid video games has decreased.

In terms of trends, the prosperity of the Polish market is mainly driven by revenue from sales of mobile, social, and browser games. This is due in part to the growing penetration of mobile devices and widespread access to the internet on mobile networks and portable devices. The console game sector theoretically had the smallest share in the overall market result, but it is a constantly growing segment that has a chance to surpass PCs in the coming years.

The publication includes an analysis of the video game market and its segments, divided into:

  • types of games (mobile, browser, and social games, on PC and consoles),
  • types of players (paying players and free-to-play players),
  • methods of payment for video games (digital sales, physical sales, subscriptions),
  • household equipment for playing games (smartphones, PCs, and consoles).

It also presents the most important data and trends based on the B2C demand-side survey. The individual market segments are also dimensioned in the context of the macroeconomic situation, and based on these analyses, development forecasts have been created until 2028.
